However, speaking as a 'silver', given the historical significance of JFK's assassination when younger people hear 'Kennedy' we do not think John Jr. Even the Stainless Steelers wouldn't say 'Kennedy who?' - even if they are woefully ill-informed about history, JFK is in the current zeitgeist - movie, Seinfeld spoofs etc. The point, though poorly illustrated, is valid.<br /><br />As an educator, it is often discussed how those who we are educating live in a very different world than that in which pre-1980 generations lived - different informational literacy etc.<br /><br />Personally, I'm not 'getting back into the workforce' but have recently (at age 40) shifted careers. My experience in my university courses is certainly different to what it would have been if I had continued directly from my, now yellowed, BA but I haven't felt ghettoized.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
