‘Twas the
season of networking, and all through the land
Job seekers
and the like were in need of a plan
Their
calendars filled in with places to go
Their business
cards ready to bring to the show
Invitations
were plentiful, promising and planned
The events full
of prospects, hand-shakers and grand
The gatherings
were formal and informal, too
And provided
a venue for mavens to woo
Be they business
or social or a mix of the two
Ensure that
the ‘mark’ is the industry’s whose who
Be wary of ‘selling’
to the ‘friends’ you’ve just made
Your
efforts will fail and your value will fade
Remember
your manners, don’t drink, eat or lean
Your
mission, your sole goal is to, “See or be seen.”
“You never get a second chance to make a good
first impression” ~
Will Rogers
